Apex Legends continues to be a huge success for EA and Respawn Entertainment, with numerous characters to play with. Naturally, because this is a free-to-play game, there are microtransactions and limited-time events to incentivize fans to keep playing. There are also Apex Packs that can give players random cosmetics.
In an effort to have fans play the game more, the devs will be adding a 100-pack bundle for 6,700 Apex Coins in Apex Legends. This means players have the chance to get 100 Apex Packs for around USD$60. We’re not sure if players will receive this news positively or negatively, but the chance to get a ton of cosmetics is there for curious buyers.
The Apex Legends' leaker HYPERMYST revealed that EA will be adding the 100-Pack bundle on July 1. Naturally, fans are tempted to give this game their money for the sake of some cool cosmetics. The only issue here is that Apex Packs are essentially loot boxes, so players will be getting random rewards for their hard-earned money.
Hardcore fans of the shooter won’t mind spending $60 for 6,700 AC since they really like Apex Legends. Being able to purchase 100 Apex Packs also means there is a very good chance they can get skins for the characters they main. Granted, there’s also a chance to get cosmetics for characters they don’t use at all.
That’s the main risk that comes with loot boxes, even in acclaimed games like Apex Legends. You never know what will be inside, and maybe all your money ends up being, well, wasted for nothing.
Because the information is new, we don’t know if this will be a permanent addition to Apex Legends or a limited-time offer. Due to the game’s live-service roots, we imagine this is a temporary move, but Respawn Entertainment could always surprise everyone.
