Apex Legends is still going strong despite the ongoing controversies and backlash over its increasingly aggressive microtransactions.
With the arrival of the mid-season update for Season 25, there’s plenty of new content to welcome fans, including the new LTM Arenas: Duels. But one major addition to the game is none other than Wattson’s new Prestige skin, which gives her a vibrant pink-and-white suit, turning her into daddy’s little princess.
How to unlock Wattson’s Apex Icon prestige skin
There are two ways to unlock Wattson's Apex Icon prestige skin, but one of them will only be available for a limited time.
Through the Future Icons event
The Future Icons event will offer players two ways of unlocking the new prestige skin for Wattson. The first method involves unlocking all the limited-time items from the event, as that will immediately grant players with the prestige skin.
The second method will be through the event packs, since those will have a chance of unlocking said cosmetics. Keep in mind that event packs are guaranteed to drop one event item and two standard items, and no duplicates will be granted.
However, both of these methods are only available during the event, meaning players will have from June 24th to July 15 to get the skin.
Using Heirloom Shards
Players who dont get a chance to participate during the Future Icons event can unlock Wattson’s Apex Icon Prestige Skin by getting 150 Heirloom Shards, but it won’t be an easy task.
The Mythic Shop is Apex Legends’ premium store, featuring the most expensive cosmetics in the game. You’ll need 150 Heirloom Shards (equivalent to three drops) to purchase Wattson’s “Apex Icon” Prestige Skin directly from there. Heirloom Shards are Apex’s most valuable resource and are used exclusively for Mythic-tier items.
How to get Heirloom Shards
Heirloom Shards can only be obtained by opening Apex Packs, with a drop rate of less than 1% — yes, it’s basically gacha. This system remains one of Apex Legends’ most controversial, and it’s frequently the subject of online debate.
However, your odds improve during in-game events. Opening every item from a Collection Event (all 24 items) guarantees 150 Heirloom Shards as a reward.
Keep in mind: Prestige Skins can’t be purchased with real money or any other in-game currency. They are exclusively unlocked through Heirloom Shards.
