It's a short-lived era for Warzone Mobile as Activision has announced its ending support for the mobile version of the popular battle royale. The announcement was made through the game's social media channel with a lengthy post detailing many things.

The post starts by explaining that the title did not meet the publisher's expectations when the game was launched in March 2024. This immediately tells us that player retention hasn't been as strong as the PC/console counterpart.

The message then makes it clear that support is ending effective immediately, meaning no more additions, changes, weapons, or any sort of content will be added to the game. In-game purchases for COD Points or the BlackCell pass have also been disabled.

The game's servers will remain online, meaning anyone who has the game installed on their mobile device can still enjoy what's currently available. However, players have until May 19, 2025 to download the title as it will be retired from the App Store and Google Play Store once the day comes around.

A shutdown date hasn't been announced for the moment, but we expect that to happen in the near future.

Activision is now encouraging mobile players to transition to Call of Duty: Mobile as it's running a special promo. All players who log in to COD: Mobile before August 15, 2025, will receive COD Points that will be equal to double the amount of their COD Points balance in WZM.

Players need to use the same Activision account for this process to work. The COD Points will be rewarded automatically and users will only need to claim them through the Call of Duty: Mobile inbox feature.
