Marvel Rivals Season 4: All the new content coming to the game

Season 4 starts this week!

Marvel Rivals Knull Throne

With September underway, Season 4 of Marvel Rivals will start soon. The new post-launch season has been officially revealed, and as always, NetEase has shared all the details on social media to prepare users for what's coming.

From two new heroes to one new map and a bunch of cosmetics for the different Marvel characters. We have prepared a summary with the important info from what's been confirmed, so youre not out of the loop.

When does Marvel Rivals Season 4 come out?

Marvel Rivals Season 4 is scheduled to start on Friday, September 12th, for all platforms. This includes the PS4, as the game is set to launch on the last-gen console when the new season launches.

A maintenance period will start at 2:00 AM PT (10:00 AM BST) and it's set to last between two to three hours. Once the downtime is over, players will be able to access the game and enjoy all the new content.

We expect this update to end sometime in November, as all Rivals seasons are set to last two months, with a midseason patch arriving in October.

Trailer

Here is the cinematic trailer for Season 4, which gave us our first official look at the two new heroes:

In this short cinematic, Angela arrives in the Heart of Heaven to demand Hela to be turned over. Instead, she faces Hela's guardian, Daredevil, who is there to make sure she faces justice after what she did.

New hero: Angela

Angela will be added at the start of the season to the roster of playable characters, becoming the 42nd hero to do so. Here is her official gameplay trailer so you can get a look at her abilities:

You can visit this article to read more about Angela, as we have gathered all the major details of the new Vanguard member there.

Daredevil will also be added during this season, but players will have to wait a bit more for his arrival. The Devil of Hell's Kitchen is coming with Season 4.5, and you can read everything we know so far here.

New map: Heart of Haven

The location we saw in the cinematic will also be a new map in the game. Heart of Haven is set to be added on September 25th, and it will be a Convergence mode map. A first look at this map can be seen in the following roadmap for the first half of Season 4:

Team-Ups

The season introduces a new Team-Up called Divine Armory, which involves Thor and Angela. When active, Thor can throw a spear that recharges the Thorforce upon impact on a surface. He can then leap onto that area and cause damage on landing.

The following two Team-Ups have also been modified, adding new heroes to each one:

  • Arcane Order:
  • Magik joins, and she can link two enemies with Doctor Strange's Chain of Cyttorak, which applies a debuff based on how separate they are.
  • Gamma Charge
  • Black Panther joins, and when his health drops below a certain mark, Bruce Banner's Gamma Shield gets immediately activated to block damage for a short time.

New features

Here are some of the new features that Season 4 will bring to the table:

  • A new Arcade Mode Hub will be added, where players will find old LTMs as well as new ones.
  • The Swimsuit and Summer Special Vol. 2 will bring new swimsuit skins and you can get a first look at them here.
  • Custom VFX abilities will be visible to all players by default, but anyone can turn this off through the settings.
  • The following accessories will be added on September 25th for players to earn: Magneto (Polaris), Scarlet Witch (Quicksilver), Cloak & Dagger (Dagger & Cloak), and Luna Snow (White Fox).
