What is Fortnite Blitz?
Fortnite Blitz is a new game mode available with rogue-like elements designed for quick, fast-paced matches, tailored to mobile gamers.
Fortnite Super is going strong at the moment
There was a previous version of this mode back in 2018, however, the core elements seem vastly different. Epic Games stated that this version of Blitz will have a max player cap of 32 players and introduce roguelike elements.
Epic stated that the average match should last around five minutes, making an excellent mobile experience. Everyone will start with the same random Medallion and weapon. You'll level up as you take down opponents and staying alive for longer.
One important thing to note is that Medallions do not reveal your location on the minimap in Fortnite Blitz.
When is Fortnite Blitz available?
Fortnite Blitz will be playable starting on June 18.
Epic revealed that there will be four weeks of content drops coming during the summer. It's still unclear if the mode will make it past those weeks and become a permanent one.
Here is the schedule:
- June 18: Week 1 - Find new Mythic versions of popular weapons, like the Rocket Ram, in the rare Golden Llama
- June 24: Week 2 - The Avatar Returns! Pagodas from the Four Nations appear on the map, and players start with a Bending Scroll from Avatar: The Last Airbender
- July 1: Week 3 - Replacing Bending Scrolls are power-packed boss weapons like Thorne’s Vampiric Blade and the new Blitz Chain of Hades
- July 8: Week 4 - TMNT Melee Mayhem! Replacing boss items are melee weapons from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, plus Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists, the Mythic Typhoon Blade, Blitz Kneecapper, and more
Is Fortnite Blitz mobile only?
No, Fortnite Blitz will be available on all platforms with crossplay enabled.
While the core function of Fortnite Blitz is to give mobile players a quick experience, everyone will be able to enjoy it regardless of their platform of choice.
Are there exclusive Fortnite Blitz rewards?
Yes, you'll be able to earn the Blitz Knight skin by earning 10 account levels or be in the Top 10 of 20 different Blitz Royale matches.
