Fnatic have taken down Karmine Corp in the Valorant Esports World Cup quarterfinals after 14-12 and 13-7 victories on Sunset and Ascent, respectively, and will play against Paper Rex in the Valorant Esports World Cup semifinals.

The series kicked off on Sunset, Karmine's pick. On paper, Karmine had the upper hand not just because it was their map pick but also because Sunset is known to be one of Fnatic's worst maps — as the orange roster had only played it nine times before today.

At first, Karmine Corp seemed to be on the right track. In fact, the European mix held a five-round lead at some point, as the players were 11-6 ahead on the scoreboard. Surprisingly enough, Fnatic pushed the game to overtime after winning six of the final seven second half rounds. Finally, the orange roster secured the 14-12 win after winning the two overtime rounds.

Meanwhile, as expected, Ascent was more one-sided. Despite a close first half, which saw ended in both teams swapping sides with a Fnatic 7-5 lead, the Valorant Masters Toronto grand finalists ended up securing the win as they completely dominated the second half.

Without a doubt, the best player of the match was Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov, who finished the game with an ACS of 295. His best performance came in Sunset, where he registered an ACS of 382 after grabbing 29 kills in 20 rounds.

Following this win, Fnatic have secured themselves a replay of the Valorant Masters Toronto grand final, as they will play against Paper Rex. Back then, the Asians took the trophy home as they got a 3-1 victory against the European mix.
