As we approach COD Next 2025, we have started to receive more official information about Black Ops 7. First, we got a week of Zombie news, and now the multiplayer reveal trailer is out, along with some other new details.
In the middle of all this, leaker TheGhostOfHope reported on X (formerly Twitter) that Zombies will feature two modes at launch: the standard mode and a classic mode called Cursed. This classic mode will have the following differences from the normal one:
- A separate pool of weapons for wallbuys, mystery box, etc.
- No minimap
- A perk limit of four
- No exfil
- Classic points system
- No armor
- Players start with only a pistol
As you can tell, and if you've been a Zombies player for a while, this is a recreation of the original Zombies format in Treyarch games, which was present since the inception of the mode in World at War up until Black Ops 4.

After that, Treyarch adopted a new approach with Black Ops Cold War, integrating some elements from Warzone, such as armor and loadouts, and adding new mechanics like exfil.
It is unclear if the main quest or easter egg will be available in this mode, so we will have to wait to know more about it.
The mode hasn't been confirmed in any of Treyarch's announcements so far, but with a reveal trailer for Zombies dropping on Wednesday, September 24, and COD Next happening on September 30th, we should have a confirmation soon.
Black Ops 7 is scheduled to come out on Friday, November 14th, for current-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S), last-gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), and PC through Steam, Battle.net, and the Microsoft Store.
