Geekay Esports qualify for BLAST R6 Major Osaka

Geekay Esports have qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after beating Shifters in an intense match that ended in a 2-1 victory for the European mix.

Geekay Esports had previously lost to Team Falcons in the BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 2 Playoffs Upper Bracket. Their match against Shifters was their final chance to qualify for Osaka; this time, the team clinched the win.

Although the final result was the desired one for Geekay Esports, Shifters had started on the right track after securing a 7-2 win on Clubhouse. Later, Geekay Esports bounced back with 7-2 and 8-6 victories on Chalet and Border, respectively.

Geekay Esports' Dawid "Gruby" Marciniak was the best player of the match with a SiegeGG rating of 1.32. He also finished the match with an entry balance of 10-2 (+8) across the series' three maps. Additionally, he finished with a KPR of 1.03, the same as the one of his teammate Leonardo "Sarks" Sarchi.

The BLAST R6 Major Osaka will be the first time Geekay Esports compete at a BLAST R6 Major since taking part in the BLAST R6 Major Manchester. Back then, the team couldn't reach the Swiss Stage after being eliminated from the competition in the first stage of the event.

Although Europe and MENA's favorites are Team Falcons and G2 Esports, Geekay Esports were the best team of the region at the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026 as they were the only team from the BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 to reach the tournament's semifinal.

Next week, Geekay Esports will play against Virtus.pro for a spot at the BLAST R6 Europe and MENA League 2026 Stage 2 Lower Bracket Final. Reaching this match is crucial for both teams to add more SI Points to their tallies and to qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka Swiss Stage without the need of taking part in the event's play-in stage.
