In a first for the ENCE organisation, a non-Finnish player has been picked up in the form of the Belgian Santino “Gomfi” de Meulenaere, replacing Otto "pannari" Heikkinen on the ESL Challenger League roster. Known for playing for Overtime (now Method) and Dave Esports in CCS alongside Pengu, IDK coach Ferral, Doki and MyNameIsZak, Gomfi now joins ENCE as a fragger alongside Kantoraketti. In an interview, Gomfi confirmed that ENCE will now be communicating in English and that "it does not seem to be an issue," though admitting "it will take time for them to fully adjust to all English call-outs, but that in itself presents no problem." When asked how it feels to replace Pannari, he said: "I've always respected and looked up to Pannari and the rest of ENCE, so replacing him is actually almost surreal." Gomfi is clearly very confident in ENCE's ability saying, "there is no doubt in my mind we will [return to Pro League], the only thing for us to do is start grinding and that's exactly what we will be doing to qualify for the Paris major and win Challenger League." Speaking in a press release, ENCE team captain Willkey wrote: "Gomfi has a lot to put on the table with good aim, communication, new ideas and a really nice personality." You will be able to see how ENCE get on in Challenger League later this year.
