It’s been almost a year since Valorant gave us a brand-new map. The last one, Abyss, was released back on June 11, 2024. Since then, players have been waiting patiently for the next one. Riot Games has been rotating maps to keep things fresh, but fans agree that it’s time for something new.
Now, there are good indications that a new map is arriving very soon. It is highly likely that Riot will introduce the map at the Masters Toronto, which is scheduled to begin from June 7 to June 22, 2025. Although nothing is confirmed yet, a small screenshot in a recent trailer has sparked a few discussions regarding Valorant's upcoming map.
A leaked screenshot from the Valorant Act 3 Cinematic Trailer
A screenshot taken from VALORANT’s Episode 8 Act 3 trailer has been shared widely on Reddit, which you can see here. It looks like it shows part of a new map. Fans noticed that the image seems to show a bomb site area with two entry paths. One is on the left, and one is on the right. There’s also a small window, which reminds many players of Haven’s A Site.
To be honest, some parts of the map look similar to Ascent, especially the colors and buildings. This made even some players wonder if this new map could be just an extension of Ascent somehow. Whether it is or not, it seems well-designed, and it is only possible if Riot has planned to include this in their next big update.
Why does it Remind People of Counter-Strike?
What’s really interesting is how much this map looks like something from Counter-Strike. One of the biggest talking points is a small hut-like structure in the middle of the bomb site. That immediately made fans think of Mirage’s B Site in CS2. There’s also a ramped entrance that looks a lot like parts of Dust 2, another OG CS map.
These similarities have led many fans to believe that Valorant’s next map is inspired by Counter-Strike. If that’s true, it could be that Riot is luring the CS fanbase.
Where is the Valorant new map set?
According to what we can see in the image, the map could be situated somewhere in a colder, snowy region. There are some buildings resembling old castles found in Europe, like one from Carcassonne, France, and there's even snow on some walls. This led fans to speculate that the new map may be set in Europe, perhaps somewhere like northern or central Europe.
For now, we have to take all the details with a pinch of salt, as Riot hasn’t confirmed anything, and we’ll likely have to wait until the Masters Toronto to get the full reveal. Still, fans are excited, and they hope that the mix of VALORANT’s style with some Counter-Strike-like features could make this map something special.
