EDward Gaming qualify for BLAST R6 Major Osaka

EDG is the first Chinese team to qualify for Osaka.

EDward Gaming

EDward Gaming have qualified for the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after beating TYLOO in the CN League 2026 Stage 2 Playoffs. The first map of the series was really close as Lair reached maximum overtime. Meanwhile, Fortress was a one-sided 7-1 win for EDward Gaming.

The BLAST R6 Major Osaka will be EDward Gaming's third international event after having played at the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City and the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026. The Chinese esports powerhouse experienced visa issues in Salt Lake City six months ago as Cheng "Direction" Yabing wasn't allowed to travel. As a temporary replacement, Team Secret's Noah "noa" Urwitz joined the roster. Unfortunately for them, they were handed a quick exit after defeats against ENTERPRISE Esports and Shopify Rebellion.

In Paris, the team struggled too, as they lost to Virtus.pro and FNATIC. However, despite both games ending with one-sided defeats, the improvement in the team was noticeable.

It's also worth noting that the BLAST R6 Major Osaka will be the team's first international appearance with Jaxen "Bapn" Dunwell in the roster. The former ENTERPRISE Esports player could face off against his former teammates in Osaka if the Oceanic roster win the Oceania League 2026 Stage 2 Finals. So far, the team has already reached the grand final after back-to-back 2-0 wins.

Later today, All Gamers is likely to follow EDward Gaming's steps as they are now playing against KINGZERO eSports.
