One month after announcing Rainbow Six Siege X in front of a sold out MGM Music Hall, Ubisoft has finally unveiled all of the details surrounding the game's biggest update.
Including multiple brand-new features like Rainbow Six Siege's first-ever 6v6 game mode, which will be called Dual Front, or a reworked Rappelling animation, Rainbow Six Siege X will change Ubisoft's FPS as we now know it.
Possibly, the most important change in terms of game play will be the addition of Ubisoft has called destructible ingredients: objects that can be triggered by players to create never-seen-before in-game situations.
So far, Ubisoft has confirmed three destructible ingredients, including the fire extinguisher, the gas pipe, and the metal detector. While the initial two are brand-new, the metal detectors were already part of Bank. However, for the first time, players will be able to interact and use them to their advantage.
Keep on reading to find out more about the three destructible ingredients confirmed by Ubisoft in Atlanta's Rainbow Six Siege X Showcase:
Fire Extinguisher

The fire extinguisher will be a destructible ingredient that will create a smoke screen immediately after being triggered. The smoke screen will last for five seconds. If an operator is too close to the fire extinguisher at the time of the explosion, it will temporarily be concussed.

Gas Pipe

The gas pipe will be a destructible ingredient that will create a horizontal flame immediately after being shot. This destructible ingredient is slightly more complex than the fire extinguisher; while the first only has one form (smoke screen) the gas pipe has two forms.
First, the horizontal flame will keep its initial intensity for ten seconds. After that, during the next five seconds, the flame progressively gets smaller. Finally, the gas pipe explodes originating an area of denial similar to the one created by a Goyo Canister. This final part of the gas pipe effect lasts for two seconds.

Metal Detector
Last but not least, we have metal detectors. Players will be able to disable them temporarily or permanently.
To disable a metal detector temporarily, players can throw an Impact EMP or a Thatcher EMP. Meanwhile, to disable it permanently, players must shoot or melee the metal detector.
