Out of nowhere, Blizzard has revealed the next mythic skin coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 18. The new cosmetic will belong to the beloved Canadian captain, Sojourn, and will be titled Ultraviolet Sentinel.
The skin was revealed with a short video posted on the game's social media, where we can see the base cosmetic and all its variations, including the Gilded and Iridescent colors. In case you haven't seen it, here is the trailer:
As you can see, the trailer starts by showing both Mauga and Lifeweaver, making the audience believe the mythic skin will belong to one of these heroes. This is simply because a leak from a few weeks ago had found references in the Battle.net shop about mythic skins for these heroes, indicating that one of them was set to receive the Season 18 mythic. However, the rumor has been basically scrapped.
The announcement was followed by a developer livestream, where they showed some concept art for this skin and more footage of the cosmetic in-game.
In its customization option, the skin will feature one VFX, three styles of hair, four armor designs, and five colors, including Gilded and Iridescent. Below you can take a look at the select animation when having this skin equipped:
Once Season 18 goes live, players will be able to unlock the skin by purchasing it with Mythic Prisms. The new season is scheduled to start on Tuesday, August 26th at 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM BST).
