Although we are still waiting for the full reveal, the first news for Overwatch 2 Season 15 has just dropped.

In a new dev blog, Aaron Keller, the game's director, touched on a few things we can expect for the next season. One of the things he mentioned is that the team will run a mini-competitive 6v6 season in the second half of Season 15.

The director explained that 10% of all play hours have taken place in those tests, meaning there is still interest in the format among the community. However, the demand is still uncertain since normal Quick Play, where users can enjoy the current 5v5 format, amounted to 35-40% of playtime hours before the playtests happened.

Hazard from Overwatch 2 making a leap

No more details about this upcoming 6v6 competitive test were provided, but we believe more will be announced during the upcoming Overwatch 2 Spotlight livestream on February 12.

In terms of a permanent swap to 6v6, Keller said the following: "I think that it’s probably here to stay in some form, but so far, we’re not ready to swap the core format of the game."

We will cover the news coming out of the upcoming event as well as any other updates to the game. In the meantime, check out our Twitch Drops guide to see the cosmetics you can currently get for free.
