Stadium comes to Overwatch 2 with Season 16, introducing a new ladder for players to compete and climb. From entirely new ranks to even more opportunities to earn rewards, the new section expands the core title beyond the traditional format.
We have gathered all the important details about this mode so you can prepare accordingly before jumping into the action.
Format
Stadium is a 5v5 experience with role queue only, with the compositions made of 1 tank, 2 damage, and 2 support heroes. Players will compete in a best of 7 rounds match.
At the start, players have to pick the hero they want to play for the entire match since changing is not allowed. Between rounds, everyone will have access to the store where they can purchase upgrades for their hero using the points they earn.
The mode will feature three of the major modes: Push, Control, and Clash. These will be played in modified versions of the maps available in the traditional queues, adjusted specifically for this mode's pace.
Heroes and maps
At launch, Stadium features 17 heroes available to pick, but more will be added in the coming season. Here is the complete list per role:

- Tank: D.Va, Junker Queen, Orisa, Reinhardt, and Zarya.
- Damage: Ashe, Cassidy, Genji, Mei, Reaper, and Soldier: 76.
- Support: Ana, Juno, Kiriko, Lucio, Mercy, and Moira.
As we mentioned before, the maps available in this mode will be modified versions of existing ones or new zones from existing maps that are not accessible in their original version.

- Rookie
