Season 16 of Overwatch 2 is starting in the next few days, and a collaboration with Gundam Wing has been confirmed. This was teased a few days before through the game's X account, and now we have our first hint at what's coming.

While we wait for more information about it, we have gathered everything we know along with our expectations for this next collaboration event.

Release date

The Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing collaboration is scheduled to drop on Tuesday, April 29th, exactly a week after Season 16 begins. The content will be available at 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM BST).

Just like previous collaborations, the content is expected to remain in the game for at least two weeks until it gets retired for the foreseeable future.

What content can we expect?

The collaboration should follow the format of previous ones, which means some heroes will receive skins inspired by major characters from the Gundam Wing series.

Mercy is the only hero with a confirmed skin, as she had a brief appearance at the end of the Season 16 trailer.

The amount of skins we'll receive is unknown, but most of them, if not all, will only be available through the in-game shop as collab skins tend to be a premium offering. The skins will come in special bundles along with other cosmetics like highlight intros, emotes, emblems, and player icons.

The collab will probably add a new set of challenges, offering smaller cosmetics also Gundam-themed, like sprays or player icons, as rewards for completing them.

Once we have more information about the new event, we will update this article to add all the details so you can decide whether to save your coins for the skins and other cosmetics or not.
