Splitage 2 is officially out, bringing even more features than the first title and new in-game elements like Proelium. With the game featuring a GAAS scheme, many will probably wonder what Proelium does once they unlock it while grinding.

We have a guide explaining everything about Proelium, from how to get it to what you can do with it.

What is Proelium and what does it do?

Proelium in Splitgate 2

Proelium is an upgrade currency in Splitgate 2 that allows players to unlock variations and cosmetic upgrades for certain skins. These include new color variants, visual effects, and other upgrades. It not only improves player stats but also makes their gear look cooler. These updates include:

  • Alternate color styles
  • Death effects and unique traces
  • Visual animations, jetpack effects, and special emotes for characters.

We can say that it's similar to Valorant skin upgrades, but in Splitgate 2, it can only be used to upgrade skins available in the battle pass or shop.

How to get Proelium in Splitgate 2?

Here's how you can get Proelium in Splitgate 2:

  • Players can collect a significant amount of Proelium by simply logging into the game every day.
  • Proelium can also be earned directly as Battle Pass rewards.
  • Players can also exchange their Splitcoin in the in-game shops to collect Proelium.
  • Lastly, completing some listed challenges can also help players earn Proelium.

How to Use Proelium in Splitgate 2?

Before using any Proelium in Splitgate 2, you'll have to own a skin that supports upgrades. These are currently limited, but we can expect more after the game fully launches. Currently, the upgradable skins include Mythic-tier skins, weekly rotating skins, and skins from Founder's Packs or event bundles.

Once you own an upgradable skin, navigate to the Customization menu in the game and select the skin you want to upgrade. Every skin in Splitgate 2 has a tiered upgrade path, so you'll need to spend Proelium to unlock these stages, namely in this order: color variants, new visual effects, and advanced visual styles. Each tier you upgrade will further allow you to upgrade to the next tier.
