Valorant Champions 2025 groups revealed

Riot Games revealed the Valorant Champions 2025 groups!

Valorant Champions trophy

Tonight, shortly after G2 Esports' one-sided 3-0 win against NRG at the VCT 2025 Americas Stage 2, Riot Games drew the Valorant Champions 2025 groups, producing some very interesting early clashes and storylines.

Including a total of 16 teams, each region (EMEA, Americas, Pacific, and China) sends their best four rosters. After the draw, these are split into four groups of four teams. Playing in a double-elimination format, the best two from each group advance to the playoffs — while the bottom two from each group are eliminated.

Here's a look at how the Valorant Champions 2025 groups have been shaped and the most interesting storylines from each one:

Group A

Group A includes Paper Rex, Sentinels, GIANTX, and XLG Esports. On paper, this is arguably the most predictable one, with the Valorant Masters Toronto champions, Paper Rex, and Sentinels being the favorites to finish at the top of the standings. However, the Chinese Ascension team and EMEA's Cinderella could have what it takes to survive the group stage, causing what would be a huge upset.

Group B

Group B includes Bilibili Gaming, MIBR, Rex Regum Qeon, and Fnatic. While the Valorant Masters Toronto grand finalists are the strong favorites to take the group's top seed, the second playoff spot is expected to be highly-contested by the other three rosters. After a rough season by MIBR, the Brazilian-majority side could be out earlier than what some people could have expected, and possibly the Asian sides will be fighting for the remaining playoff seed.

Group C

Group C includes Team Liquid, NRG, DRX, and EDward Gaming. The Blue Cavalry and the current Champions title holders should be the favorites to take Group C's top two seeds. However, considering NRG's progression throughout the last few months, it wouldn't be strange to see the Americans causing an upset.

Group D

Finally, Group D includes G2 Esports, Team Heretics, T1, and Dragon Ranger Gaming. This is arguably the group of death, as it includes the Valorant Masters Bangkok champions and grand finalists, T1 and G2 Esports, and the Valorant Esports World Cup 2025 champions, Team Heretics.

The VCT 2025 Americas champions and Bangkok grand finalists G2 Esports are the favorites to take the first seed in Group D, while T1 and Team Heretics are expected to fight for the second. It would be a big surprise if Dragon Ranger Esports managed to take a single win, especially considering the team's only international experience was a winless run at Valorant Masters Shanghai, over a year ago.

The Valorant Champions 2025 group stage will kick off iu a fortnight, on September 12, 2025, and it will run until October 5, 2025. Make sure to follow Siege.GG for more coverage of the competition!
