Ubisoft have revealed their plans to shut down Rainbow Six Mobile in January 2027. The news come less than a year after Rainbow Six Mobile's worldwide release, which happened on February 23, 2026.
Including some of the game's most iconic maps, players could enjoy the Rainbow Six Siege experience in their mobile phones with Rainbow Six Mobiles. The game was first announced on April 5, 2022, meaning Ubisoft spent almost four years to release it worldwide. Before, only selected countries and devices had access to the game.
When it officially shuts down, Rainbow Six Mobile will have been available worldwide for almost a year. According to Ubisoft's announcement, "the game will remain available until January 15, 2027. The next season will be released as planned next week."
Ubisoft also added that "in the coming weeks, we will share more updates so you know exactly what to expect and can prepare for the transition."
Rainbow Six Mobile players have enjoyed plenty of updates since its worldwide release. Ubisoft released a season every month, which would include Rainbow Six Siege operators that still had to be launched to the game's mobile version. Additionally, Rainbow Six Mobile had more currencies and customization options. Similar to Dual Front, we could see Rainbow Six Mobile's impact on Rainbow Six Siege in the near future.
The truth, however, is that Rainbow Six Mobile is shuting down in just three months. This isn't great news for Ubisoft fans, especially given that XDefiant's closure is still recent. On the other hand, Ubisoft will have more resources to invest on Rainbow Six Siege and Rainbow Six Tactics, which was announced on August 25, 2026.
