Tubarão and Noor's trick steals the show in Osaka: here's how players have been using it

A gentlemen's agreement is on the cards...

Tubarao and Noor

Tubarão and Noor have stolen the show at the BLAST R6 Major Osaka as players have been abusing the two defenders to fortify their reinforcements, making it almost impossible to breach some of the sites' most important walls and hatches.

The combination using Tubarão and Noor has been seen in pratically all maps played on Day 1. First, we saw the duo being used on Clubhouse by LOS while playing against All Gamers, stopping the Chinese players to breach the CCTV wall or the construction wall. LOS also used this strategy on Nighthaven Labs' electrical wall, for instance. Another team that used it has been Virtus.pro against Weibo Gaming, who ended up banning the Egyptian operator on Fortress.

After six matches played at the BLAST R6 Major Osaka, Noor has now a 20% pick rate. Meanwhile, Tubarão has a pick rate of 15%. This means that Noor is now the ninth-most picked defender in Osaka, whilst Tubarão is just outside the Top 10.

The trick is easy to carry out. First, you let the hard breacher attach the charge on the wall. Then, the defender check what part of the reinforcement the charge is burning. After, Noor throws his gadget, followed by Tubarão's canister. Finally, once the freezing effect is over, the Noor is automatically triggered and quickly burns the attacking device.

In front of this situation, well-known personalities in the Rainbow Six Siege esports community have already expressed their thoughts about the combination. At the time of writing, most of them believe this interaction shouldn't exist.

If you are one of those who dislike the Noor and Tubarao combination, there may be some hope for you. According to Matheus "Budega" Figueiredo's post, the teams involved in the BLAST R6 Major Osaka are talking about making a gentlemen's agreement so both operators aren't played together in future games.

This wouldn't be the last time a gentlemen's agreement took place in Rainbow Six Siege. During the Six Invitational 2019, the teams agreed on not using Caveira due to a bug that affected her hitbox and moves.

However, gentlemen's agreements are verbal agreements; therefore, as these are outside of Ubisoft and BLAST's control, we could see teams breaking it. This happened in Montreal, when Lukas "korey" Zwingmann used Caveira against Team Liquid despite the previously mentioned agreement. Guilherme "gohaN" Alf was really annoyed by the German's decision, which ended in the Brazilian player shouting at his opponent the now historical line "nice Caveira play!"

So far, nothing has been confirmed. We will release more information about the situation in the upcoming hours, as the situation evolves.
