Embark Studios has released a new Update 7.3.0 for The Finals. This patch brings a new mode, gameplay tweaks, and significant improvements to destruction across multiple maps.

The most unique addition is the new Blast Off mode. This limited-time mode combines low gravity, explosive-only loadouts, and a classic shooter feel. Players will take on the battlefield as Medium builds equipped with Evasive Dash and a camera shift inspired by classic arena shooters. This mode also offers Quickplay points and contains 12 limited-time contract rewards for players to unlock over the next two weeks.

Destruction has also received a significant overhaul, as structures in maps like Kyoto and Skyway Stadium can collapse naturally, causing chain reactions in surrounding buildings. This system gives a more grounded feel to the practical destruction.

Another major highlight of this update is the range of balance changes. These were requested by the community for a long time. Now, gadgets like the H+ Infuser and Healing Emitter have been nerfed, and the Gateway gadgets now have a longer cooldown between object teleports.

Weapons like the CL-40 have been adjusted for better fairness, including improvements to self-damage and blast radius. Apart from that, many other weapons like the 93R, AKM, ARN-220, and Cerberus 12GA have gone through changes in equip and unequip speeds.

Apart from these gameplay tweaks, new customization options have been added that allow players to choose different intro and victory emotes. Meanwhile, smart dummies in the Dojo have been updated, and new behavior profiles have been added, allowing bots to act more nuanced based on the character type.

Update 7.3.0 also includes a significant store refresh themed around the 4th of July, new Twitch Drops, and an anti-cheat roadmap that implements kernel-based protection and machine learning-driven detection systems.
