Team Heretics and Team Vitality have reached the VCT 2025 EMEA Kickoff Upper Bracket Final after victories against the Turkish sides BBL Esports and FUT Esports, respectively.
Los Niños was the first roster to qualify for the match as they kicked off the action with a 2-0 win against BBL Esports.
The series began with a close Team Heretics win on BBL Esports' pick, Pearl. The Turkish roster seemed to have control of the map as they took an early 7-2 lead. However, the Valorant Champions 2024 grand finalists completed the comeback after winning the last five rounds of the map.
Shortly after, Team Heretics closed the series with a one-sided win on Lotus as the map ended in a Los Niños 13-7 win. Overall, the best players of the match were the Team Heretics' duo Mert "Wo0t" Alkan and Ričardas "Boo" Lukaševičius. However, it's also important to mention BBL Esports' Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen, who finished the game with an ACS of 265.
Later on, Team Vitality joined Team Heretics in the Upper Bracket Final following a one-sided series against FUT Esports that included 13-7 and 13-4 victories on Bind and Split, respectively. The best player of the match was the former Fnatic player Nikita "Derke" Sirmitev, who finished the game with an ACS of 349.
Following these two results, both Team Heretics and Team Vitality will clash in the VCT 2025 EMEA Kickoff Upper Bracket Final as the winner will qualify for the Valorant Masters Bangkok. Meanwhile, BBL Esports and FUT Esports have fallen to the Lower Bracket.
Later today, Fnatic, Gentle Mates, Team Liquid, and GIANTX will feature in the Lower Bracket Round 2. The losing sides will be knocked out of the tournament and won't be able to qualify for the first Masters event of the year.
