Shopify Rebellion have announced the team's decision to part ways with Troy "Canadian" Jaroslawski and Richie "Rexen" Coronado.
The Canadian esports organization revealed both moves in separate announcements. The team first announced the exit of the Canadian IGL. Then, they announced the American's departure. Following today's moves, Shopify Rebellion's roster currently includes William "Spoit" Löfstedt, Jaylen "Ambi" Turk, and Damian "Surf" Medina.
So far, Shopify Rebellion's season has been a rollecoaster of results. The team had a great start to the season with a grand final appearance at the BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City, with Ambi, Surf, and Spoit dominating the team's individual standings with SiegeGG ratings of 1.16, 1.11, and 1.10. Rexen and Canadian scored SiegeGG ratings of 1.08 and 0.76, respectively.
In Stage 1, Shopify Rebellion managed to qualify for the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026 after claiming North America's fourth seed. Spoit and Ambi, with SiegeGG ratings of 1.15 and 1.06, had been the team's best players. Rexen and Surf followed with 0.97 whilst Canadian scored a rating of 0.83.
Shopify Rebellion's season took a sudden turn in Paris, France, after a quick elimination from the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026. The team's victories against Al-Ula Club and TYLOO were followed by a 1-2 defeat against CAG by VARREL, which sent them home after just two days of action. Rexen averaged the second-highest rating in the team (1.16) mainly thanks to his 1.53 and 1.40 against Al-Ula Club and TYLOO.
The final nail in the coffin was placed a few weeks ago when Shopify Rebellion was confirmed to miss out on the BLAST R6 Major Osaka. The team finished in second place of the group stage, but back-to-back 0-2 defeats against 100 Thieves and M80 meant the team wouldn't play in Japan. Fortunately enough, the team have already clinched a Six Invitational 2027 spot through the Global Standings.
Both Canadian and Rexen had joined Shopify Rebellion from Soniqs, in December 2024. Until today, Rexen was the longest-standing player in the roster as he had joined Soniqs in February 2021. Canadian had joined Soniqs in August 2024.
At the time of writing, Rexen hasn't posted anything about his departure and his future yet. Meanwhile, Canadian admitted that he's "still confident I can compete at the highest level" and that he's "open to offers of any role to explore my options."
Although Canadian and Rexen's replacements haven't been revealed yet, rumors indicate that Shopify Rebellion could sign Wildcard's duo of Jacob "Bae" Dowling and Brady "Spiker" Lukens.
