Although the ascended teams made their respective VCT 2025 debuts during the Kickoff stage played in January and February, Riot Games has just released the team capsules for organizations that were promoted to the scene's top flight in the Valorant Ascension 2024.
The list of newly added teams includes 2GAME Esports (Americas), Apeks (EMEA), XLG Esports (China), and Nongshim RedForce and BOOMB Esports (Pacific). As of now there are 48 team capsules in Valorant's in-game store.
Out of the five teams, it's fair to say the most popular one in Valorant's esports scene is BOOM Esports. The Indonesian esports organization was part of the region's top flight and even featured in the Valorant Champions 2022.
Unfortunately for them, the squad wasn't invited to the VCT Partner Program and automatically got demoted to the region's second tier. After multiple failed promotion attempts, BOOM Esports finally got back to the region's top flight after taking Bleed Esports' spot for the 2025 season.
Meanwhile, the rest of the promoted teams had no previous top-flight experience. Against all of the odds, 2GAME Esports took America's 12th spot after taking down M80 in a heated Valorant Ascension Americas grand final. Similarly, Apeks qualified for EMEA's top flight after taking down PCIFIC Esports, who had gone unbeaten in Valorant Ascension 2024 EMEA's group stage and had built a +51 round difference.
Last but not least, XLG Esports and Nongshim Esports qualified after winning the Ascension competitions held in China and Pacific, respectively.
