Paper Rex have won the Valorant Masters Toronto following a 3-1 victory against Fnatic.

Paper Rex kicked off the series with a 13-11 win on Sunset after closing out the map with a brilliant Sage and Raze ability combination. The play ended with Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie elevating his position to a point where he had full vision to mid, which allowed him to get two of Fnatic's players.

Fnatic's answer came almost immediately as the EMEA side won Icebox after eight overtime rounds. Eventually, the Europeans secured a 17-15 win that kept them alive in the series.

Shortly after, Paper Rex restored their map advantage after a 13-10 win on Pearl. The series concluded with a thrilling 14-12 match on Lotus, which saw Fnatic transforming an 11-7 into a favorable 11-12. Unfortunately for them, Paper Rex's reaction was perfect as they survived to Fnatic's resistance.

Finally, the last round of the match saw Paper Rex successfully planting in a 2v4 situation, which ended with Ilia "something" Petrov and Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto putting the final nail in Fnatic's coffin.

This is a historical win for Paper Rex for multiple reasons. First of all, Paper Rex have finally won an international top flight championship after falling close in previous competitions, including a fourth place in the Valorant Masters Reykjavík 2022, a third place in the Valorant Masters Tokyo, a second place in the Valorant Champions 2023, and a third place in the Valorant Masters Madrid.

Despite the team's lack of international silverware in previous seasons, the players stayed together and only made changes when it was truly needed. For instance, Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie, who joined Paper Rex in September 2021, was benched two years later due to his military service duties in Singapore. However, shortly after coming back, the player was reintroduced to the team's active roster.

Although the team made a bunch more of changes, the active roster that has just been crowned as Valorant Masters Toronto champions includes Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee and Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto, who joined in February 2021, Ilia "something" Petrov, who joined in March 2023, the previously mentioned Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie, and Patrick "PatMen" Mendoza, who was signed in March 2025. We must also mention the team's substitute Alessandro "mindfreak" Leonhart, who also joined in February 2021.

Last but not least, the South Asia-majority roster is the third-ever Pacific side to win an edition of Valorant Masters as they followed the footsteps of Gen.G Esports and T1. All these three championships have come in the last 13 months, as the last non-Pacific Valorant Masters champion was crowned at the Valorant Masters Madrid, when Sentinels took down Gen.G Esports in the tournament's grand final.
