Overwatch 2’s upcoming support hero, Wuyang, has had his abilities leaked ahead of schedule, well before his planned trial period on August 14.
Fans have been growing impatient to learn what his full kit looks like, and luckily, one leaker has stepped forward to reveal everything Wuyang is capable of.
As expected, he will be a support hero, and most of his kit is focused on countering dives and providing steady healing to his team.
His weapon, the Xuanwu Staff, fires a damaging water orb as his primary (left-click) attack, while his secondary (right-click) attack places a passive healing stream on an ally. Holding the stream on a target will increase the rate of healing over time.
One thing many players have noticed is that Wuyang has a resource meter that we still don’t see yet. It may be tied to his aquatic powers, which is possibly a “Water" gauge that appears to deplete whenever he uses abilities.
Wuyang’s other skills include Guardian Wave, an anti-dive ability that knocks back enemies in front of him and boosts healing received by allies caught in its effect. His second ability, Rushing Torrent, grants him mobility by allowing him to ride a stream of water, increasing both his movement speed and jump height.

His Ultimate ability, Tidal Blast, functions as both a defensive and offensive tool. Wuyang selects either himself or an ally, then summons a water-based protective field around the target. After a short delay, the field explodes, knocking down nearby enemies and delivering a powerful burst of healing to the selected ally. It’s a clutch tool during chaotic teamfights, giving Wuyang the ability to save a tank on the brink or turn the tide with a well-timed heal
Not only has his full kit been revealed, but his Perks have also been leaked. As usual, he has two Minor and two Major perks:
Minor Perks
- Overflow – Gain 10 ammo and 33% healing resource when Rushing Torrent is activated.
- Balance – When you deal damage with water orbs, Restorative Stream’s passive healing increases by 40% for 2 seconds.
Major Perks
- Ebb and Flow – Guardian Wave rewinds to its original location. It deals 50% reduced damage during the return.
- Falling Rain – Simultaneously control three water orbs that deal 60% reduced damage and have a 25% smaller empowered explosion radius.
Wuyang’s perks are designed to let players switch between an offensive or defensive playstyle. He has the potential to be as impactful as Zenyatta and Moira when it comes to damage dealing, but we’ll have to wait and see how he plays out in real matches.
Wuyang will officially launch with Season 18 of Overwatch 2 on August 26.
