Just like with most games, Overwatch 2 offers the possibility to change your name. Whether you've come up with a better username or simply want another identity, Blizzard has got you covered.

The process is relatively the same on every platform, since you need a Battle.net account to play the hero shooter. We have prepared a guide explaining what you need to do to change your name.

How to change your name on Overwatch 2

Regardless of the platform you play, here are the steps to change your name on Overwatch 2:

  • Head over to the Account Details page of your Battle.net account
    • If you are not logged in, you will have to log in with the same account you use to play.
  • Scroll down until you see the Battle Tag section and click on the "Update" option to the right.

  • A textbox will appear, where you can input your new name. Once you're done, save it, and your new name will be ready.

Keep in mind that all players have one free Battle Tag change, so if you've never changed your name before, you don't have to worry about buying anything.

However, if you changed your name before, you will have to purchase a Battle Tag name change on the Battle.net shop. The name change costs $10/10€/10£ and you can find it here.

Once you have your name set, it should appear next time you open Overwatch on console or PC. If you don't see it, we recommend restarting your game.

Remember that this will also change your name in other Blizzard titles like World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Hearthstone, or even Call of Duty if you play through the Battle.net launcher on PC.
