The Fantastic Four have been confirmed for Marvel Rivals Season 1, with Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman leading the charge. Starting the season with these characters is a smart move due to the upcoming MCU film. Both heroes have been fan favorites for a while, with many fans curious about Reed’s stretchy abilities.
Any Marvel fan knows that Reed Richards is no stranger to Marvel games, appearing in various Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Fantastic Four titles. Reed can do so much with these abilities, literally stretching the imagination of writers and artists to come up with very interesting uses of his powers. We’re going to see some of that when the character comes to Rivals later this month.
Without further ado, here’s what we know about Mr. Fantastic.
Release date
Players can use Mr. Fantastic when Marvel Rivals Season 1 launches on January 10. The character will be immediately available, alongside his wife the Invisible Woman, so fans won’t have to wait too long.
His recent trailer showed off his fantastic powers, making him a force to be reckoned with. Richards and the rest of his team also have great original designs in the game, which can be said for plenty of the characters. Needless to say, fans are chomping at the bit to use this character and it’s only a matter of time.
Abilities
The recent Mr. Fantastic trailer showed off some of his abilities in Marvel Rivals Season 1. Fans now know he’s a 350 HP duelist who can also act as a tank when needed. He can grab two foes and slam them together. Richards’ balloon form can also reflect long-range attacks, making him a must-have character for many.
Rivals Leaks was able to leak some of his abilities as well. Here’s what the character can do in-game:
- Elastic Punch (regular long-range attack)
- Brainiac Bounce (ultimate ability that lets reed attack foes up to six times)
- Reflective Rubber (absorbs long-range attacks and reflects them back at opponents)
- Flexible Elongation (dashes at enemies and heals nearby allies)
- Rubber Grip (stretches and grabs opponents, can slam two enemies together)
- Elastic Strength (generates strength, can activate his inflated state)
Skins
The official Marvel Rivals Twitter has revealed that he will have a skin based on The Maker, an alternate version of Reed who went evil. Like a lot of the alternate skins in the game, this has its own MVP winning animation and exclusive emotes. One of the emotes is an excursion, which plays a big part in the upcoming Secret Wars movie.
Choosing The Maker for Reed is a perfect choice since he’s a very different version of the character. Obviously, he still has the same stretching abilities, but the character’s more twisted morals make him a compelling character. His recent actions in The Ultimates have made him one of Marvel’s top villains.
For now, that’s everything we know about Mr. Fantastic in Marvel Rivals Season 1. Curious fans can check out what we know about the first season and Ultron.
