With Marvel Rivals Season 3 fast approaching, the summer season isn’t over just yet. It looks like NetEase is taking a page from the classic comic book summer catalogs and bringing it into Marvel Rivals’ lineup of iconic characters.
In a social media post by Marvel Games Executive Producer Danny Koo, he teased an upcoming comic titled Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes & Rivals, set to release on July 9. This special will feature new “fun under the sun” looks for some of Marvel’s most iconic heroes.
As a result, Marvel Rivals characters will be receiving Summer-themed outfits in lieu of their Marvel Summer comics special. Most recently, prominent Marvel Rivals leaker X0X_Leaks posted an illustration where we can see five of these upcoming outfits.
The confirmed heroes getting summer skins are Punisher, Loki, Luna Snow, Psylocke, and Thor. While the rest of the roster hasn’t been announced yet, the illustration confirms these five heroes will debut exclusive summer costumes for all to enjoy.
Yes, even Punisher’s signature skull-shaped underwear is making an appearance.
At the time of writing, there’s no exact date for when the skins will be available. However, Koo confirmed they’ll launch sometime during the summer season. With Season 3 going live on July 11, featuring Phoenix and a brand-new map, there’s a good chance we’ll see the skins drop in late July or early August, possibly before Blade’s debut.
We still don’t know if these will be Legendary or Epic skins as pricing hasn’t been confirmed either. But if they include unique MVP animations, the cost could range from $10 to $30. Keep in mind that these summer skins may not be part of the Season 3.5 Battle Pass and could instead be available as Shop items, purchasable with Lattices.
