Marvel Rivals has been out for almost six months, and fans continue to enjoy this superhero shooter. With the game now officially in Season 2.5, many players are curious about which characters currently dominate the meta. While we always encourage players to experiment and find heroes that suit their individual playstyles, it's still fun to see who the community considers top-tier.
Tier lists are always subjective, but they can be helpful when preparing for a Rivals session. Sometimes you want to pick a hero for fun; other times, you're trying to support your squad in ranked. Since this is a live-service shooter, the Marvel Rivals tier list will evolve with each update.
Without further ado, as a Grandmaster player in this current season, here is my current Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Tier List:
Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Tier List (Diamond+)

Tierlist Marvel Rivals 2.5
S-Tier
Here are the characters many fans consider to be the best of the best when it comes to the current Rivals meta:

Emma Frost.
- Magneto
- Doctor Strange
- Emma Frost
- Storm
- Luna Snow
- Hela
- Hawkeye
A notable shift in the 2.5 meta is the growing issue of flyers, especially with Ultron joining the roster. Hitscan Duelists like Hela have become essential counters to airborne heroes such as Iron Man and Human Torch, forcing them to be more cautious in aerial engagements.
Storm users continue to dominate lobbies. Despite lacking mobility, her damage output and new team-up with Jeff the Land Shark create a devastating combo of tempest and chaos.
Vanguards like Doctor Strange, Emma Frost, and Magneto remain top-tier thanks to their mix of survivability and consistent damage. Doctor Strange’s recent buffs make him even more deadly in high-elo matches. Magneto continues to be the go-to frontline protector, with his bubble shielding fragile allies like Strategists.
Emma Frost maintains her hybrid presence, her Barrier, powerful primary attack, and Diamond Form make her a threat to Dive comps and shieldless teams alike.
Among Strategists, Luna Snow has risen to the top of the meta. Her team-up with Hawkeye grants him a freezing arrow that pierces shields and immobilizes enemies, an incredibly oppressive combo. Unsurprisingly, Luna or Hawkeye are usually the first to be banned.
A-Tier
These characters are some of the best in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5. Most players will be able to get plenty of wins with these heroes and villains.

Ultron.
- Human Torch
- Punisher
- Invisible Woman
- Peni Parker
- Groot
- Iron Man
- Hulk
- Ultron
- Rocket Raccoon
It’s still early to say whether Ultron will remain meta, but he’s already causing problems in high-elo. While his healing isn’t top-tier, his utility allows him to fill both Duelist and Strategist roles.
Vanguards like Groot and Peni Parker excel at area denial. Despite a recent nerf, Groot’s walls are still a nuisance. Peni’s new team-up with Rocket Raccoon gives her access to two Nests at once, making it hell for Dive comps to push through.
Hulk continues to shine in backline disruption thanks to his leaping mobility, allowing him to jump in and out of fights freely.
Aerial Duelists Iron Man and Human Torch dominate the skies, unless there’s a strong hitscan on the opposing team.
Punisher is finding his rhythm with improved weapons that make him effective at both long and short range engagements. However, his ultimate prove dangerous to an enemy team without a good Magneto to counter it.
As for Strategists, Invisible Woman and Rocket Raccoon remain relevant thanks to their healing and Ultimate recharge abilities, which keep teams alive in tight situations.
B-Tier
Although these characters are good in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5, they aren’t great. Players must either master their skills or pair them up with stronger characters. Even then, you won’t regret picking any of these heroes.

Future Foundation Skins.
- Adam Warlock
- Jeff the Land Shark
- Loki
- Wolverine
- Mr. Fantastic
- Venom
- Moon Knight
- Winter Soldier
- Psylocke
Despite nerfs to Dive comps, Venom stays relevant. His symbiotic kit allows for quick engagements and disengagements, and he works best when supported by another S-Rank tank and a Duelist.
Strategists like Adam Warlock, Jeff, and Loki have high skill ceilings and can be game-changers in the right hands. Jeff’s rework makes him a surprisingly dangerous pick when someone locks in.
Duelists like Wolverine struggle against fortified defenses (e.g., Peni and Groot), but good synergy with The Thing or Hulk can make him deadly with Fastball’s increased mobility.
Mr. Fantastic has improved survivability this season. His stretchy arms and disruptive Ultimate allow him to be a persistent nuisance to backlines.
Moon Knight, Psylocke, and Winter Soldier all offer value, especially when their kits are used skillfully. Moon Knight can dish out extreme damage if his Ankhs and Ultimate are timed right; Psylocke remains a backline threat; and Bucky’s anti-air tools and Ultimate are still powerful, even if his pull is weaker in the current Shield-heavy meta.
C-Tier
Fans who use these characters in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 will be able to survive, but not by much. In one of these intense sessions, plenty of teamwork and strategy are needed to make these characters work.
- Magik
- Star Lord
- Iron Fist
- Scarlet Witch
- Spider-Man
- Namor
- Mantis
- Black Panther
- Cloak & Dagger
Dive comps have taken a major hit this season. Heroes like Magik, Iron Fist, Black Panther, and Spider-Man struggle to break into backlines due to hitscan threats like Hela and Hawkeye, especially when paired with a good Peni Parker and her dual Nests.
Other Duelists like Scarlet Witch and Namor have some anti-dive potential, but with Dive no longer dominant, their impact is limited.
Strategists like Cloak & Dagger and Mantis are finding it difficult to keep up with Season 2.5’s faster pace. Cloak & Dagger’s ultimate is easily countered by strong ultimates (e.g., Magneto, Iron Man), and Mantis’ healing just can’t match the game’s increasingly quick time-to-kill ratio.
D-Tier
There are 5 characters who are now in the Marvel Rivals D-Tier in Season 2.5. While they aren’t necessarily bad, their kit and abilities don’t always give enough value compared to the rest of the playable roster.

Immortal Sovereign.
- Squirrel Girl
- Thor
- Black Widow
- Captain America
- The Thing
Thor, Captain America, and The Thing are decent Vanguards when paired with top-tier teammates like Magneto or Strange, but on their own, they tend to "feed", providing free Ultimate charge to the enemy. While Thor’s rework improves his damage, it significantly reduces his survivability.
Squirrel Girl and Black Widow also underperform as Duelists. Squirrel Girl’s exploding acorns can disrupt formations, but most players prefer heroes with stronger accuracy and damage. Meanwhile, Black Widow’s sniper rifle deals solid damage, but she struggles to survive against hitscans like Hela or Punisher, making her a risky pick in high-skill lobbies.
These are my personal tier-list for the current Marvel Rivals meta in Season 2.5. The list will be updated every new season.
