Customizing weapons is one of the most essential features a game should have, as it helps players adjust their weapons according to their playstyle. Fortunately, Helldivers 2 offers this option for free.
Continue as we explain how to customize weapons in Helldivers 2.
How to customize weapons in Helldivers 2?
While customization for every weapon isn't allowed in Helldivers 2, there are some that players can customize.
For customizing weapons in Helldivers 2, navigate to the Armory Terminal on the Super Destroyer. While players can't customize their guns on the pre-mission screen, they can do it before stepping into the hellpod.
Currently, only primary weapons can be customized, except for collab weapons.
To start, navigate to the Armory Terminal; here, select the Primary Weapon you want to customize and select the Customize option to get started.
Attachments

Let's start with customizing attachments. These include:
- Adding muzzle and underbarrel grips for recoil control.
- Adding ergonomics and laser light combos.
- Adding magazine options, these include short, extended, and drum.
- Optics accessories, including iron sights, red dots, Holo sites, and magnified sights.
Almost all primary weapons allow customizations; however, not all have similar attachment slots and options available.
Weapon Stats
Next, players can view auxiliary weapon stats after customizing their guns in the Armory. These include:
- Horizontal and vertical recoil, as these decide how much force a weapon pushes towards the horizontal and vertical axes.
- Sway, as it indicates how hard a weapon swings while moving or while stationary.
- Ergonomics to decide how quickly your weapon snaps to the screen's center after moving your camera.
Patterns
Weapon patterns, similarly to attachments, should be purchased with Requisition and unlocked by leveling up weapons. These don't offer any added benefit to the weapon's performance and are entirely decorative.
Available weapon patterns include:
- Default
- Helldiver (standard black and grey combo)
- Arctic (white)
- Arctic Camo (white with camo pattern)
- Desert (tan)
- Desert Camo (tan with rough desert sand pattern)
- Forest (foliage green)
- Forest Camo (foliage green with jungle camo pattern)
- Urban (light grey)
- Urban Camo (light grey with urban digital pattern)
- Venus (black and yellow)
- Night (pure black)
