G2 Esports have become the first team to qualify for the Valorant Champions 2025 after beating XLG Esports, China's first seed at the Valorant Masters Toronto.

The samurai's victory against the Chinese roster means they have secured a Top 6 finish on Canadian soil, which has earned them an extra 2 VCT 2025 Points.

With a current total of 18 VCT Points, G2 Esports' tally is enough to clinch a Valorant Champions 2025 spot through this metric, as they have been granted a Top 4 finish on the Americas' standings.

This also means that G2 Esports are in a comfortable position to keep their position in Valorant's North American top flight. As a former ascension roster, the samurai's position to compete in next year's VCT Americas is still uncertain; however, as confirmed by Valorant's Esports Director Leo Faria, the players have already scured the chance to defend their slot.

G2 Esports will automatically grant themselves a spot in the VCT 2026 Americas if 2GAME Esports don't qualify for the Valorant Champions 2025 or by finishing above the Brazilian roster in the case they qualify for the tournament.

Focusing on the present again, G2 Esports' next match in Valorant Masters Toronto will be against the loser of the match between Wolves Esports and Gen.G Esports. The match will be played on June 17, 2025, at 12 PM ET.
