Want to know how to get Unstable Exotic weapons in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3? We've got you covered.
With the start of the new season, dubbed Super, Epic Games introduced plenty of new content. From POIs, to NPCs like Robin roaming around the map, one of the most interesting additions is the Unstable Exotic weapons.
These are powerful guns that come with some unique side effects. Getting them won't be easy, but we're here to tell you how to do it.
How do you get Unstable Exotic weapons in Fortnite?
You can obtain them by opening Rank S Hero Caches and Academy Tech Labs. Alternatively, Spire bosses can drop Unstable Exotic weapons as rewards for defeating them.

Unstable weapons are hard to come by
We recommend that you squad up and track down a Spire boss. Supernova Academy is often jam-packed with enemies, acquiring an S-Rank to get a cache with an Unstable Exotic weapon might be tougher.
Plus, by taking down a Spire boss you'll also be tackling another weekly quest, so it's definitely more efficient.
How to damage opponents with Unstable Exotic weapons
Unstable Exotic weapons in Fortnite work essentially like any other weapon, just aim and shoot. However, they come with some quirks. Depending on which weapon you obtain, this is what each will do:
- Unstable Yoink Shotgun: Whoever it hits with the first shot from a full clip, they’ll be yoinked towards you
- Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol: The first and final shots from each clip produce a shockwave effect at the impact point
- Unstable Frostfire Shotgun: On a successfully landed shot, it’ll cycle between giving you a Pepper effect or the target a slowdown effect
To complete the weekly quest, you need to do a total of 500 damage to opponents. You'll be rewarded with 30k XP for your troubles.
