Dplus KIA has become the first eliminated team from the BLAST R6 Major Osaka after the roster's 1-2 defeat against KINGZERO eSports.
Although yesterday's defeat against Weibo Gaming (3-7, Bank) didn't come as a surprise, Dplus KIA were favorites to beat KINGZERO eSports today. However, against all of the odds, the CN League roster claimed the victory after wins on Border and Chalet.
Surprisingly enough, KINGZERO eSports' win on Border was their first on the map since the team made its debut in China's professional ecosystem. Although the Brazilians seemed to be bouncing back with a 7-4 win on Lair, their 4-7 loss on Chalet was the final nail on their coffin.
Dplus KIA's early exit is disappointing, especially given that the Brazilians stopped CAG by VARREL from qualifying for their home Major. Since the team's qualification, many fans openly complained about the players' prsence in Osaka. In fact, Weibo Gaming supported the Cyclops by using their skins in their game against Dplus. They also spammed messages on the chat, constantly showing their support to the Japanese players.
Dplus KIA's defeat against KINGZERO eSports also means that they are out of the race to qualify for the Six Invitational 2027 through the Global Standings. The team needed to reach Osaka's Swiss Stage to sneak in the Top 15.
