Counter-Strike 2's Season 2 wrapped up on July 23, and players are now wondering when Valve will launch Season 3. This new season will be one of the most anticipated updates that could include the return of Cache map, one of the fan favorites.
Additionally, Season 3 will be extremely exciting for CS2 enthusiasts as souvenir packages are also expected to be tied to the final matches of the major. Continue as we explain everything we know about Season 3 of FragPunk.
When does CS2 Premier Season 3 start?

Season 3 of Counter-Strike 2 is expected to kick off immediately after the currently available limited-time items expire. This could most likely be on July 16, as per Valve's traditional Tuesday or Thursday update pattern.
However, according to a thread on Reddit, for the season to reset, Austin Major needs to be over. Currently there are 14 days left for the limited number of items to run out, and the season won't reset until these items run out.
Cache map incoming (but maybe not yet)
One of the biggest rumors circulating around is the return of Cache. Valve has officially acquired the rights to the map from FMPONE, and it's expected to enter the Active Duty pool soon.
However, many experts suggest that the remake may not be ready just yet. Another realistic possibility for Season 3 could be Overpass returning to the pool or another adjustment involving less competitive played maps.
Seasonal reset and Premier changes
Premier mode is also expected to reset just like previous seasons and offer players a fresh competitive grind. Valve may also make some improvements to the new ranking system and make changes aimed at combating case-farming in deathmatch modes. Weekly missions will also be continuing, but with expanded challenges.
New case and economy shake-up
A new case may also be introduced in Season 3, possibly replacing one of the current active drop pool items. There are also rumors about a potential souvenir package drop from the recent Major.
While the skin economy is growing and approaching all-time highs, any update could generate short-term market shakes.
Battle Pass 2.0?
Lastly, we can also expect Valve to add a more robust Armory Pass that'll possibly mimic an Operation-style battle pass.
This may include limited-time cosmetics, weekly progression, and premium content, signaling a shift away from traditional Operations toward a modern in-game shop model.
