Counter-Strike 2's Premier Season 3 has officially started, and it brings new gameplay, map rotations, and a new quality-of-life item security feature. As players return to the ranked grind, they will see that Overpass has again returned to the Active Duty map pool, while Anubis has been rotated out for the season.

Modifications in the gameplay also add variety. Incendiary grenades now spread faster, a change that clearly aims to punish rushing tactics more effectively. Meanwhile, the MP9 has also been nerfed, making its spray harder to control, and it has significantly reduced jumping accuracy, which could shift close-range preferences for CT players.

The economy also receives an important update for the defending side. Counter-Terrorists will not receive a shared team award for each Terrorist eliminated in a round, regardless of whether they win or lose. This significantly improves CT's economic stability in tightly contested matches.

Besides improvements to the gameplay, Valve has also introduced a new item security feature: Trade Protected Items. In the event of an account compromise or scam, a gamer can reverse all Counter-Strike item trades performed within the last seven days. This option will be available on Steam's Trade History page and is designed to provide an extra layer of protection against theft or fraud.
