Valve has launched an update to CS2 that has added new features and items, with The Armory and the game's first weapon charms as the patch's headlines.
This has caught the community off guard as most CS2 players had complained about the lack of updates in the game, which contrasted with Valve's progress with Deadlock. Although today's update doesn't bring frogs to CS2, fans will be able to purchase... sausages.
Here's everything you need to know about the CS2 October 2 patch!
The Armory
Starting from October 2, players will be able to purchase The Armory through the CS2 store page on Steam. After activating the pass, players will earn credits for playing the game. These credits can be used to unlock the items included in The Armory.
The Armory will include three collections: the Overpass Collection, the Graphic Collection, and the Sport and Field Collection. The Armory will also include gallery cases, featuring "17 community-designed weapon finishes exploring a wide range of art styles."
Finally, players can also unlock new Elemental and Craft Stickers, a unique type of sticker that can be slightly edited to make it look as the player pleases.
CS2 Charms
However, the CS2's weapon charms have truly stolen the show in this update. The new cosmetic type, which is already present in other FPS titles like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege (Charms) or Valorant (Gun Buddies), has landed in Valve's shooter, and, let's be honest: it's here to stay.

Unlike other FPS titles, Valve allows CS2 players to place the charm wherever they please. However, something is certain: you will see your charm dangling while getting kills — or getting killed.
The rest of the updates introduced in today's patch are balancing updates and bug fixes that will improve your in-game experience. For more information about those, check out Valve's official Release Notes.
