CAG Osaka and VARREL have merged their operations after establishing a partnership between both esports brands. As a consequence, CAG Osaka's Rainbow Six Siege division will now be known as CAG Osaka by VARREL. More information can be found in VARREL's official statement.
This is the third rebranding the Cyclops have suffered since they arrived in Rainbow Six Siege's esports ecosystem. The Japanese brand was previously known as CYCLOPS athlete gaming. Later on, the team changed its name to CAG Osaka. Now, a third change has been made after partnering with VARREL.
This isn't VARREL's first time in Rainbow Six Siege. The Japanese esports organisation had been part of Japan's circuit from September 2018 to February 2024. The team made it internationally once as they took part in the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen, where they finished in 17th - 20th place.
CAG by VARREL will include CAG Osaka's players and staff, including:
- Reon "Anitun" Sakai
- Takashi "Arcully" Ono
- Ryuya "Chibisu" Hamasita
- Taichi "DD" Shintani
- Shuuhei "ShuReap" Yaguchi
- Giovanni "Sparky" Mangiarotti (Coach)
- Rento "Rento" Murase (Analyst)
- Kyouhei "KYON" Nishio (Manager)
CAG by VARREL will make their Rainbow Six Siege debut later today, when they play against KINOTROPE gaming in their last BLAST R6 APAC North Stage 1 group stage match.
