The BLAST R6 Major Osaka Swiss Stage is kicking off tomorrow. Here's a look at the first eight games, which will start to shape the future of the event.
Team Liquid Alienware vs. DarkZero Esports
Team Liquid Alienware and DarkZero Esports are crossing path for the first time since the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2024. Some of the players involved, however, met in other occasions under Spacestation and FURIA.
As it's hard to find connections between both teams, we can just look at the present. The Blue Cavalry have been performing strongly in their home region, being the second horse in the championship race in South America only behind the back-to-back world champions FaZe Clan. Meanwhile, DarkZero Esports have had a shaky stage in North America, which has been followed by two strong displays against TYLOO and LOS in the play-ins.
Having already played two games in Osaka could be an advantage for the purple roster. However, given the recent performances by both teams, it feels right to see Team Liquid Alienware as slightly favorites.
M80 vs. LOS
Six weeks ago, thinking M80 would be in Osaka was hard to believe. Now, as the Swiss Stage is about to begin, they are one of the main candidates to reach the playoffs.
The Americans' first game will be against LOS, who come from surviving the play-ins. Similar to DarkZero Esports, this could be an advantage. However, in LOS' case, the Brazilians have had to play an extra BO3—a one-sided match against KINGZERO eSports.
Given that both teams are still alive in the team to qualify for the Six Invitational 2027 through the Global Standings, this BO1 will be crucial in how the race unfolds in the next hours.
100 Thieves vs. Cloud9
The BLAST R6 North America League 2026 Stage 2 champions 100 Thieves will make their international debut with a game against a very well-known opponent: Cloud9.
Both teams have already faced off twice; the head-to-head record currently benefits Cloud9 as the blue roster has won two of their three games. In fact, Cloud9's two victories against the thieves came in BO1 games, whereas 100 Thieves' win came in a BO3—in the last duel between the two.
In short, anything could happen in this game. Just like the clash between M80 and LOS, both 100 Thieves and Cloud9 are in the race to qualify for the Six Invitational 2027 through the Global Standings. A strong start in their first game in Osaka would increase their chances to qualify for the upcoming world championship in the next few days.
Sharper Esports vs. EDward Gaming
It was meant to be. Sharper Esports' debut will be against the CN League 2026 Stage 1 and Stage 2 champions, EDward Gaming. While the Chinese have already qualified for the Six Invitational 2027, the Thai need one victory to heavily elevate their chances to do so through the Global Standings. A win against them would completely shake the Global Standings, putting CAG by VARREL in serious trouble.
It's hard to call a favorite here. Although EDward Gaming have been really strong in China recently, they are yet to prove their quality abroad. Starting their Osaka run with a victory against Sharper Esports would give them an extra life, as they would be two wins away from a historical playoff qualification.
FaZe Clan vs. G2 Esports
FaZe Clan and G2 Esports will meet tomorrow in what is the most anticipated game of the playday. The back-to-back world champions and current Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026 title holders are the big favorites to beat the samurai; however, the teams' head-to-head record says the opposite as G2 Esports have won their last two matches against FaZe Clan.
In fact, if we look at their head-to-head record prior to the arrivals of Thiago "handy" Ferreira and Eduardo "KDS" Chiste, G2 Esports' leads the record with four victories and two defeats since the Six Berlin Major.
It's also worth noting that this will be G2 Esports' sixth game against a team from South America's top flight since the start of Year 10. Their record against BLAST R6 South America League teams since the release of Rainbow Six Siege X is 4-1, including two victories against FaZe Clan and one against Ninjas in Pyjamas and FURIA each. Their only defeat came against Black Dragons at the Six Invitational 2026 group stage.
Geekay Esports vs. Weibo Gaming
Geekay Esports will make their BLAST R6 Major Osaka against Weibo Gaming, who head to the Swiss Stage after victories against Dplus KIA and All Gamers, as well as a defeat against Virtus.pro.
The Asian roster has a love-hate relationship with Swiss Stages in Majors. In Munich and Salt Lake City, Weibo Gaming fell short from the playoffs after 2-3 records. Before that, the core, under Bleed Esports, had suffered the same end in Atlanta and Manchester. Meanwhile, the team reached the Top 4 in the Esports World Cup editions played in 2024, 2025, and 2026. A win against Geekay Esports to start Osaka's Swiss Stage would be a huge boost of confidence for the team.
Unfortunately, their results against teams from Europe and MENA in Majors haven't been great at all. In Munich, the team lost to G2 Esports and Team Secret. In Salt Lake City, the team fell against Twisted Minds and Virtus.pro. In Osaka, so far, Virtus.pro have already beat them. Will they change their streak against Europe and MENA teams tomorrow?
Team Falcons vs. Fluxo W7M
Team Falcons are back on the international stage with a big game against Fluxo W7M. Their last international exit was abrupt, as they lost to Team Secret at the Rainbow Six Siege Esports World Cup 2026.
Historically, both cores have met multiple times as Team BDS, Team Falcons, and w7m esports. This will be the first time that the Fluxo brand is involved in their head-to-head record.
Although it's a crucial game for both teams, Fluxo W7M will be on the spotlight as the team is making its Rainbow Six Siege international debut. Led by Luccas "Paluh" Molina, the team needs to reach the playoffs to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the Six Invitational 2027 through the Global Standings. A victory against Team Falcons would make things slightly easier.
ENTERPRISE Esports vs. Virtus.pro
Virtus.pro head to Osaka's Swiss Stage after back-to-back wins against KINGZERO eSports and Weibo Gaming. It feels like the Bears head to tomorrow's action in great shape; a game against ENTERPRISE Esports could be ideal to keep their momentum alive.
The Oceanic roster, on the other hand, wants to replicate or even improve their BLAST R6 Major Salt Lake City finish in Osaka. With a Six Invitational 2027 spot already under their belt, ENTERPRISE Esports has nothing to lose in Japan: they want to represent the APAC fanbase on the stage for a second time in a row, this time in front of them.
