After the thrilling first Semi Final, fans of the Rainbow Six Pro League were hugely interested in what was to follow with the esports panel, and it definitely delivered.

Things started off with a video showing off the skins and charms included in the “Pilot Program” that was announced for the first time at the Season 7 Finals.

Previously, there had been 11 teams involved in the “Pilot Program”; namely Evil Geniuses, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Rogue, Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, Team Vitality, Mousesports, SK Gaming, Immortals, and PENTA Sports. However, after the PENTA roster got picked up by G2 Esports, Ubisoft decided to remove PENTA from the program.

Every team will have one skin and one charm. The charm will be universal, and the skin will be for a single gun each, as shown below.

Changes to the Challenger League (CL) were also announced in the panel. The leagye will now be adopting the Pro League (PL) format of playing each team twice in a season, though the CL season will still be 3 months long, meaning that they will have two play days a week instead of the one the PL has.

Last but not least, there was some news regarding the Six Invitational 2019. As usual, it will be held in Montreal, Canada, and will run from the 11th of February to the 17th.

Of particular note is that the prize pool will now rise from the $500,000 seen this year, to a combination of a base pool of $650,000 combined with the money made from the “Pilot Program”.

The distribution of slots to the tournament was announced as well.

As can be seen, LATAM has 2 spots in the Open Qualifiers. This is due to the region's difficulty in attending DreamHack events that offer qualifying slots, combined with some strong performances at global LAN events so far.
