After several leaks and speculations, Season 2 of Marvel Rivals has finally been revealed. The new season will rock the Hellfire Gala theme the community was expecting after a few teasers from the developers and leaks.

While we wait for its release, we have gathered all the relevant information so you can read about it and prepare accordingly.

Release date

Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 11th, three months after the start of Season 1. If the release format stays the same, the corresponding update should be available at 1:00 AM PT (9:00 AM UTC).

Just like the first one, this season is set to last three months, with a mid-season patch arriving in the middle to add the second-half content.

Trailer

In case you haven't seen it or if you want to give it another look, here is the trailer for this upcoming season:

Hellfire Gala

NetEase started teasing the next season's theme through an in-game message that ended with the sentence "Now, if you will excuse me, Doom has a gala to attend..."

Many speculated that this was a hint to the Hellfire Gala and now it has been officially confirmed. For those who are lost, this is an annual celebration in Marvel Comics where mutants gather to select a new X-Men team, with the attendees wearing extravagant outfits.

Thanks to this theme, many heroes will receive gala-themed skins like the ones we saw in the trailer.

New heroes

The Season 2 trailer features two new characters that aren't part of the roster: Emma Frost and Ultron. Both are among the long list of leaked characters coming to the game and Ultron's abilities even got revealed, so it's no surprise to see the two characters here.

While Emma Frost is scheduled to come out at the start of the season, players will have to wait a bit more to try Ultron as the character will be added with the mid-season update.

Emma Frost will join the roster of Vanguard (Tank) heroes, while Ultron's role is unknown at the moment.

New map

This season will introduce a new map, Hellfire Gala: Krakoa, the exotic place where the annual ceremony takes place in the game's lore. This is a Domination map, the game mode where teams fight to control a central area like in Control from Overwatch.

The trailer also teased us with a second map coming this season which will be Ultron-themed.

We expect the second map to also come out with the mid-season patch, following Season 1's format.

Other details

Here are other minor details about the new season so you don't miss out on anything:

  • The following Team-Ups will be adjusted: Metallic Chaos, Voltaic Union, Dimensional Shortcut, Ammo Overload, and Chilling Charisma.
  • Three new Team-Ups will be introduced:
